So who doesn't love a trilogy that includes witches, vampires, dragons and gods?

Alright, confess, who else is absolutely buzzing right now? With Samhain strutting its spooky self just around the corner, my internal compass is pointing firmly towards all things witchy, autumnal, and just a little bit dangerous. Honestly, hand me a ridiculously oversized mug of pumpkin spice, a fuzzy blanket, and a freshly released fantasy novel, and I am in my absolute happy place. It’s my vibe, people! My soul's aesthetic.

But let’s be real for a second. There’s nothing, and I mean nothing, worse than falling head-over-heels in love with a book, devouring every single page, only to reach the end and discover… it’s a standalone. A standalone! One book, one glorious, fleeting moment of literary bliss, and then poof, it's gone. What kind of cruel, authorial joke is that? My heart just can’t take it. That’s why, in my humble opinion, trilogies are where it’s at. Three whole books! Three times the magic, three times the character development, three times the questionable life choices made by fictional protagonists! You can read until your heart’s content, or at least until you need a snack and a nap.

So, if you’re anything like me and you live for that multi-book immersion, let me introduce you to a couple of series that have certainly captured my attention. First up, buckle your broomsticks for The Karizma Chronicles (3 book series) by Arianna Del Gaudio. Just the title alone whispers "destiny" and "probably a lot of questionable judgment calls." This series dives headfirst into the age-old (and by "age-old," I mean "fantastically dramatic") conflict between vampires and the Karizma line – a powerful bunch of witches who also happen to be vampire hunters. They used to have a BFF alliance with the Lycans for protection, but apparently, the war on witches got a bit too bloody for even the Lycans, so they ghosted. Rude.

Now, imagine this: the last known Karizma, a plucky soul named Ryleigh, lands a job at the nightclub of none other than Kristopher, the notorious Karizma Killer. Yes, you read that right. He’s literally the guy tasked with eradicating her entire family tree. And guess what? They fall in love. Before they realize who the other is, of course. Because what’s a little targeted genocide between potential soulmates? I mean, who hasn't accidentally fallen for the person trying to, you know, eliminate their bloodline? Relatable, right? It’s a classic Romeo and Juliet, but with fangs, magic, and decidedly more nightclub brawls, I imagine. Pure, unadulterated, glorious chaos, my friends.

Indie Authors Witch Trilogies to love for Fall!

And because one epic saga isn't enough, let's talk about The Witch's Rebirth Series by Michaela Riley. If you like your fantasy with a side of historical grit and a main course of "OMG what just happened?!", this one’s for you. We’re delving into the shadowy and perilous realm of the Merovingian Dynasty – a time defined by superstition, brutal power struggles, and probably a distinct lack of indoor plumbing. In this delightful era, a witch named Merona is reborn, absolutely brimming with ancient and formidable magic. And because life loves to dump responsibilities on the magically inclined, she finds herself the reluctant protector of humanity. Reluctant! Can you blame her? Imagine being handed the fate of the world when all you probably wanted was a quiet afternoon to practice your potions.

Merona has to confront the encroaching darkness threatening to swallow the world whole. No pressure, right? Just humanity hanging by a thread, all resting on the shoulders of a freshly-reborn witch. I bet her job description just read: "Keep the world from ending. Benefits include eternal gratitude (maybe) and crippling existential dread." Sign me up!

So, as the nights grow longer and the veil between worlds thins, ditch the reality TV and grab a trilogy. With these multi-book marvels, you can truly lose yourself in worlds of forbidden love, ancient magic, and reluctant heroes. Just try not to fall in love with your designated killer, alright? Unless he's really, really charming. Then, you know, maybe just one date. Happy reading, spooky season lovers!
