As the leaves start their dramatic descent and my pumpkin spice latte addiction reaches critical levels, you know what that means, right? It’s almost my absolute favorite spooky time of the year! And what better way to embrace the crisp air and mysterious vibes than by curling up with a spellbinding book? Forget carving pumpkins for a moment; my focus is firmly fixed on finding the most magical escapism possible.

Samhain is Coming and it's the season of the Witch!

This year, I'm absolutely bursting to share some fantastic reads from my fellow Indie Authors that are bubbling up just in time for September. Get ready to add these magical marvels to your list, because my inner witch is already doing a happy dance envisioning all the magnificent messes, powerful protagonists, and enchanted escapades awaiting us!

First up, we have Astrid Rose, who clearly knows my soul (or maybe just my late-night brain waves) with her book, The Book Reader. Now, if you thought being a low-level witch meant endless Netflix binging and only using magic to find your lost keys, think again! The synopsis promises: "What if this time, she’s powerful enough to stop them all. What if this time, they don’t destroy her?" My kind of stakes! We follow Arianna Jay, born into a life of magic but seemingly destined for a chill existence as a nightclub owner, dabbling in the occasional spell. That is, until one fateful meeting with the man that has been haunting her dreams changes absolutely everything. Sounds like Arianna is about to level up, and I, for one, am here for it!

Next, prepare yourselves for a magical rollercoaster with The Moon is a Door by Samantha B. Cummings. The blurb alone had me cackling with anticipation: "Dangerous magic. Twisted friendships. A goddess imprisoned." Sounds a lot like my last family reunion, but with more spells and, mercifully, less awkward small talk! At Deighton Academy, Astrid’s blossoming powers pull her into a clandestine coven. This world is packed with dark magic and even darker rivalries. Their grand quest to unleash a forgotten goddess promises ultimate power, but Astrid soon discovers the greatest threat isn't some ancient curse, but the venom lurking within her own coven, where friendships twist into bitter betrayals. Seriously, my kind of drama.

And rounding out our September spellbinding list is Catalyst by Marrissa Cunningham. While not strictly broomsticks and cauldrons, this one serves up a delicious dose of high fantasy magic, forbidden love, and enough tension to make your teacup rattle. Imagine this: "In a land divided by centuries of war and distrust, an elven princess and a human prince are the last hope for peace — or the spark that ignites another war." Princess Elissa of Treiaul is my kind of royal – she prefers the whisper of the forest to the stuffy throne room, and her bow to the delicate trappings of court life. With kingdoms on the brink, their forbidden connection might either shatter the fragile hope of peace or forge a love powerful enough to change the fate of their realms forever. My heart is already doing flutter-bys!

So, as I prepare my cauldron (mostly for hot chocolate, let’s be real) and the glorious autumnal chill approaches, I am so ready to dive into these fantastic reads. My TBR pile is already groaning under the weight of anticipation, and my inner witch is doing a triumphant little jig.

Ready to join me in this magical September reading spree? You can grab all these spectacular books on Amazon starting September 1st! Don't walk, fly there on your broomstick!

Don't forget my own witchy reads for Samhain!
